Testimonials

We have used Chinwag Theatre Limited for the past five years. They have worked with us in about sixty schools in Tower Hamlets, East London, on workshops which are concerned with diversity and equality. We make every effort to ensure that there is a budget for their work because of the impact that theatre, and more specifically, the characters/scripts have on the participants. The evaluations all cite the importance of having theatre-in-action, complimented by facilitators who have the knowledge, awareness, skills and strategies to build upon the character's attitudes and behaviours. (Unwitting and witting).

Chinwag Theatre have been an invaluable part of the team raising staff awareness of racism in schools over the past five years. The scenarios they create are disturbingly real at times! They allow workshop participants to enter into debates which address some very problematic issues and to question the characters portrayed by the actors in a way that just wouldn't be possible in any other context.

Their work with pupils has been equally successful, engaging children in both primary and secondary schools in their lively and interactive sessions.

The many times we had Chinwag Theatre Group work with us on our Tackling Hate Crime Events I thought it was a very effective and entertaining method of conveying messages to our audience within a short period of time. Drama in education appeared to be much enjoyed by residents as it actively engages them in dialogue and provides them with the opportunity to share their opinions with the characters.

Chinwag Theatre are an immensely adaptable theatre company who are able to work with a range of ages and abilities in a very committed, inventive way, always striving to get the best out of there participants; invariably achieving over and above what is required of them.

Chinwag Theatre have worked particularly hard on our St. Mungo's drama programme which saw them working with over 30 homeless clients achieving remarkable results, culminating in a performance on The Old Vic stage to a sell out audience. Without Chinwag I feel sure the project would not have been as successful and those participating would not have achieved half as much.

If you are looking for commitment, talent and passion then Chinwag Theatre are exactly the sort of people you should work with.

Anisha and Ben of Chinwag Theatre transformed the hospital experience for a number of patients at the Evelina Children's Hospital. Their innovative concept and first-class delivery, as well as their imaginative engagement with children, ensured an excellent pantomime project at the hospital. We all look forward to their return to Evelina Hospital!
